Drop-in centre

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic the Drop In and ESOL classes will not be operating from St John’s Church until further notice. Please contact us on the telephone number or e- mail address below if you need help in the meantime.

On Tuesdays between 11.00am and 1.00pm you can speak to a volunteer (in person) on this phone number (for help and advice).

Those who come to receive food will be contacted directly as to the alternative arrangements.

We hold a drop-in centre twice a week where we do our best to help refugees and asylum seekers in our area. This could mean providing access to legal advice, organising regular food parcels or simply a having a chat over coffee.

The drop-in centre is where we meet many of our clients for the first time. It takes place every Tuesday and Friday between 11.00am and 1.00pm at St John’s Church, Sutton Rd, Watford, WD17 2QQ

Our volunteers can provide advice and support on the spot, including:

  • help with filling in forms and interpreting official documents
  • matching clients with one of our befrienders
  • referring clients to a solicitor who specialises in immigration law (our partner solicitors come to the centre twice a month)
  • assistance with finding appropriate housing
  • access to the charity’s other services, such as regular food parcels and free English classes.

If you know anyone in the area who is a refugee or asylum seeker and would benefit from our support, please tell them about the drop-in centre or bring them along.

The centre could not function without our team of committed volunteers and we are always looking for additional help. If you’re interested in joining the team, please get in touch – there’s a chance you could help change someone’s life.
